Hypnotherapy~ is where you have a therapist to guide you into this deep relaxation. During this process the conscious (judgmental) mind relaxes which allows access to the unconscious mind. Negative thinking processes can then be reprogrammed to produce more effective coping strategies.
Hypnotherapy is completely safe. You are always in control, you cannot be hypnotised unless you agree to it, nor can you be made to do or say anything that you do not want to. If at any time you feel uncomfortable during hypnotherapy, you can end the session by simply opening your eyes.
